I’ve found myself frustrated by online discussions in which a great proposal is ruined when someone points out how it would hurt the already-disadvantaged. It seems inescapable that some legitimate objections have to be ignored. This hurts. I try to rationalise my way through that conflict.
Believe
The word “believe” does not mean what you probably believe it means, at least not to everyone. I argue that untangling different meanings of this word can help avoid some confusion. Probably can’t help avoid conflict, but hey, I can’t fix everything.
